New Name and Organizational Change of the College of Physical Therapy

The College of Physical Therapy has been undergoing major changes these past few months with the offering of the new Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics. The College will now be called the College of Allied Rehabilitation Sciences (CAReS) under which there will be 2 courses offerings: The Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT) and the Bachelor of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BSPO). A new seal will also be used by the College in all its documents and transactions.

The symbol of the serpent entwined around a staff is an adaptation from the Rod of Asclepius that signifies medicine and healing –achieving optimal health through rehabilitation. Its golden color represents the core values of integrity, commitment, social accountability and compassion.

The book placed beneath the staff signifies quality education towards promoting optimal health.

The laurel leaves stands for knowledge and learning .

The blue ribbon stands for the trademark of excellence, competence and compassion.

The circle signifies unity, wholeness and infinity towards achieving quality education.

The blue and yellow color represents the official color of the college.
